Administratively Closed Cases

In rare instances, at the request of the responsible county, some cases in GTS have been administratively closed by the AOPC. This most often occurs with cases that were migrated to GTS at go-live and, in hindsight, should not have been (ex. the guardianship was terminated, following the death of the IP, before the responsible county started using GTS).

If your county has one or more cases that have been administratively closed, it is important to understand what this means within GTS:

  • These cases are no longer visible to court staff through docket number or IP name searches.

  • These cases are NOT counted in any statistical reports.

  • Guardians appointed to these cases will NOT have access to them through their Dashboard.

  • The court cannot add, modify, or remove any case actions, case participants, bond information, suppressed flags, or report reminders.

  • Any reports that were in a status of 'New' or 'Saved' at the time of the administrative closure were removed.

  • Any financial information recorded on these cases is retained.

Court staff cannot administratively close cases on their own. This can only be completed by making a request through the GTS Help Desk.
